What is Forge

Forge is an on-device workout tracker for iOS and Android. It stores 100% of your workout data on your phone — no account, no server, and no network connection required to use it.

Features

Everything on the device

Built for the working set, not the cloud. Forge runs offline, end to end.

  • LOCAL

    Yours, on your device

Fully on-device. No account, no cloud sync, no backend. Your programs, sets and history live on your phone and nowhere else.

  • JSON

    Portable JSON programs

Programs are plain JSON. Author them, import by file or paste, and share them with a partner. No backend, deduped by ID.

  • e1RM

    Honest progress

Personal records ranked by Epley-estimated 1RM, so any weight × rep combo competes fairly. A sliding 5-session average keeps progress current.

  • SETS

    Every set type

Normal, warm-up, drop set, AMRAP, timed, to-failure. Warm-ups and drop sets stay out of your PR figures.

  • REST

    Rest timer that works

Per-exercise rest from your program, with on-device notifications when rest ends. No cloud push. Nudge it ±15s on the fly.

  • PREFILL

    Smart weight prefill

Suggests your last top set, then a rolling average, then the program weight — in that order, so the bar is loaded before you ask.

On the floor

Built for the set in front of you

One huge number, hairline rules, one accent. Keep your training organised, offline, and yours.

  • Forge home screen: today’s Push Day, weekly stats, biggest mover and a one-tap start.

    Today

  • Forge active workout screen with completed sets, live heart rate and a rest timer.

    Live session

  • The Forge import screen — copy an LLM prompt, paste text or open a JSON program file.

    Import

Forge on Apple Watch: live elapsed time, heart rate in zone 4, and active energy. Forge on Apple Watch: workout controls to pause or end the session.

Apple Watch

Start on your wrist

Tap Start on Watch and Forge streams live heart rate, active energy, distance, pace, cadence, elevation and your GPS route — for strength, outdoor walk or outdoor cycle. Phone-to-watch stays on-device via Apple’s Watch Connectivity.

Completed workouts write to Apple Health, so every session counts toward your Activity rings.

Portable programs

Your program is just JSON

Forge programs are plain JSON. Author them, import by file or paste, and share them with a training partner. No backend, no lock-in — re-imports dedupe by ID so your library stays clean.

  • Forge works fully offline. It makes no network calls to function — no cloud sync and no backend.

  • Forge is free to download. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase.

  • Forge runs on iOS and Android.

  • Your programs are portable JSON files you own, and can export, import or share at any time.

  • Forge is optimised to run entirely on-device, with no centralised server in the loop.

I wanted a training log that’s just mine — no account, no cloud, no one watching the numbers but me.
